The autumn season is coming soon to the summit of Iwatake on the elevation of 1,289m. There was the first snow on the peaks of Ushiro-tateyama Renpo including Mt. Hakuba (Photo) and we could see the 3 layered autumn tints for the first time this year, in spite of the cloudy sky. HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR (Photo) was more crowded with people today than usual Monday.

The leaves already started to change their colors into yellow around the summit. At VIEW Area, I could find some people enjoying Buggy Cruising (Photo, Guide included, Adult JPY2,000, Child JPY1,000) in the beautiful 3 layered view. After that, when I headed to Nezuko-no-mori Forest, there were more and more fallen leaves around my foot and autumn leaves of Kaede changing from green to red on my head.

Hakuba Deli STAND starts the special autumn menus such as “Beniureshi Baked Sweet Potato” (JPY480) and “Beniureshi Baked Sweet Potato & Soft Serve Ice Cream” (Photo, JPY680). This aged sweet potato has a good sweet flavor. The soft serve ice cream is made by Northern Alps Farm in Azumino City and gives a good harmony.

Generally, about 30 – 40% of the leaves started to change their colors into the autumn tints on the summit area of Iwatake. On this weekend, Oct. 23 (Sat), the forth event of “IWATAKE OCTOBER FESTIVAL” will be held. By the way, “HAKUBA Yoo-Hoo! Festival 2022” which is produced by ISEKI who was an ex-member of Kimaguren is decided to be held in the next year!
