The autumn season is coming soon to the summit of Iwatake on the elevation of 1,289m. There was the first snow on the peaks of Ushiro-tateyama Renpo including Mt. Hakuba (Photo) and we could see the 3 layered autumn tints for the first time this year, in spite of the cloudy sky. HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR (Photo) was more crowded with people today than usual Monday.

In Nezuko-no-mori Forest, there were some gaps in changing colors depending on trees and places, but the leaves of Kaede (Photo) showed us bright red, orange and yellow tints. We can usually enjoy the autumn tints along the trails from the arbor to Umabuna. Recently, the peak season is going on until the middle of November.

I could see families playing with sheep walking around in the area beside the beech forest sometimes. At the end of the trail in the north part, there is “Dog Run in Forest” and you can play with your pets fully. It was very cool, just 4 degrees, at around 8:30 a.m, but the temperature went up to 14 degrees at 10:30 a.m.

“HAKUBA WAN! TAIN HARBOR” which is open this year (*700m away from Sky Ark) is also one of the most recommended place to enjoy the autumn tints. A father from Nagaoka City (Photo) talked, “We could not come here last year because of the Coronavirus. Actually, I would liked to enjoy mountain biking today, but I change my mind and spend a good time with my family.”
