27 people participated in Iwatake Morning Yoga Session, which was held from 7:30am (* meet up at Gondola Bottom Station at 7:15 a.m.). We spread yoga mats on the terrace of HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR and moved our bodies corresponding to breathing under the instruction of an instructor, YUKA. It was chilly in the morning, however, people began to take off their jackets, warming themselves.

It was breakfast time at THE CITY BAKERY after the yoga session. We had “croissant sandwich egg” and coffee. Participants seemed to have a good time, enjoying the view at the dining space or the terrace. (The next session is going to be held on Oct.28 (Sun). Booking is required. 2,700 yen; including yoga lesson, Gondola round-trip and breakfast.)

A long waiting line at THE CITY BAKEY was crossing the bridge around 9:00 a.m. when it was opened for general visitors. As the sun appeared, the terrace was crowded with people taking souvenir photos with the autumn leaves in the background.

About 30-50 % leaves are changing color at the top area of Iwatake at the moment(1,289m above sea level). I found about half leaves turning red or yellow around the big tree while walking in Nezuko-no-mori. On the other hand, leaves, mainly maple leaves, just started to change color in the deep forest where the sea level was lower. There were lots of fallen leaves on the course, and I enjoyed its sound when I walked on them.

You can ride on Iwatake Gondola with your pets (600 yen per pet) and enjoy in the dog park, “Wanwan Park” beside Sky Arch for free. There was a friendly atmosphere there, people starting a conversation about pets. There is a dog park for small-breed dogs around the entrance of the beech forest on the western side of Sky Arch.
