Mt. Hakuba-dake (altitude 2,932 m), the main peak of the Ushiro-Tateyama mountain range, is rising ahead of the protruding terrace of “HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR.”At 7 a.m. this morning, I could see the peak clearly even from the foot of the mountain, but it was covered by quickly spreading clouds.

The terrace attracted more visitors around 9 a.m., and its protruding area became the perfect spot for visitors to take photos of the surrounding mountain. Even though it’s getting colder everyday, it was the perfect weather for outdoor fun.

I smelled fresh muffins from the oven at “THE CITY BAKERY,” which opens. at 9 a.m.. Enjoying breakfast at the terrace is a wonderful experience. Don’t miss the American-style treats, such as the Mixed Berry Scone (JPY440) and the Chocolate Chunk Cookie (JPY360).

There were a few mountain bikers at Hakuba Iwatake MTB Park after the long holiday. You can ride at your own pace and enjoy the scenic mountain views. In Autumn, typical scenery includes the Chinese Silvergrass and the dragonflies along the course near the summit.

At Nazuko-no-mori Forest (Nezuka No Mori), the leaves are just beginning to turn colors. The colors become even more beautiful and pronounced as you venture deep into the forest. It’s amazing to observe the pallet of colors from every tree, which has its own time to change colors little by little.
