“HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR” will be grand-open tomorrow, on Oct.6 (Sat). Prior to that, a photo session for mass media and the opening ceremony was held today from 9am. I found foot lights placed on the terrace, where you can have a full view of the Northern Alps, for dark or rainy days.

A long-established bakery that first opened in New York and is popular in Japan, “THE CITY BAKERY”, is open in the facility. An array of freshly baked breads, including its speciality, “Pretzel croissant” (410 yen), attracted attention. There are not only soft drinks, such as coffee, cafe latte and earl grey, but also alcoholic drinks, including draft beer, wine and Highball.

You can also enjoy some lunch menus, such as “Hakuba Pork Croissant Sandwich” (900yen) and “Croissant Sandwich Egg” (860yen). Drink set (1,200 ~ 1,250 yen) and soup set (1,200 ~ 1,350 yen) are also available.

It’s a cafeteria system like Sky Arch and you can have foods and drinks in the terrace. There is also free dining area among the shops (shown in the photo). You can enjoy the view on the counter seats beside window that face the terrace.

The center of the terrace projects towards the Northern Alps (the one in the front in the photo). It’s a great spot to take the mountain photos or souvenir photos. By the way, the leaves have just started changing colors around the top area. Some events, including jazz live concert (Oct.20), Morning yoga (Oct.14, 28) and Night Gondola (Oct. 25), are going to be held in the approaching autumn leaf season.
