The autumn opening period has been extended for a week in Iwatake and it opens every day from Sep. 22 (Sat) to Nov. 11 (Sun)! Yesterday, it rained heavily in the early morning but the weather got better rapidly around 11 a.m. and it got sunny this morning, though there were much clouds. As the gondola started working around 8:30 a.m., MTB riders arrived at the top of mountain one after another.

In Hakuba Iwatake MTB PARK, Summit Touring Course (for ascending) and the starting part of Kamikaze Downhill Course has been closed due to the construction of “Hakuba MOUNTAIN HARBOR”, which is going to open on Oct. 6 (Sat). On the other hand, Alps Down Hill accessed through Summit Touring Course (for descending), the middle and the lower area of Kamikaze Down Hill, Cross Country Course and Skill Up Area were open.

You can still enjoy Buggy Cruise (One ride 15 minutes, JPY1,500 for adults, JPY500 for children) and Walking Guide Tour (Twice a day from 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., 120 min: JPY1,500 for adults, JPY1,000 for children, 60min: JPY1,000 for adults, JPY500 for children) ( ※You need extra fare for Gondola to reach the top). It was three-day weekend and I saw visitors who was planning to join in Buggy Cruise.

In Nezuko-no-Mori, the whole route was wet and some parts were muddy because of the rain that fell until yesterday. However, it wasn’t that bad and my shoes didn’t get really dirty. The “not too dense” forest was nicely bright and cool. I enjoyed walking there.

More visitors for sightseeing arrived around 10 a.m. I saw people stopping at the Northern Alps Lookout one after another. The Northern Alps was behind clouds for most of the time but I could sometimes see the ridge and the top of Mt.Hakuba.
