More and more families have visited Iwatake recently and it shows the summer vacation has started. The lilies in Village Lily Garden passed their peak, while those in the summit were in half-bloom. In the lower part of the south slope, I could see various kinds of lilies, such as Salmon Classic and Pollyanna (photo).

I also found lilies starting to come out in the north area of Sky Ark. Especially, red and pink ones were beautiful and their stems and leaves remained lively without damage. We could look over Tsugaike as well today.

It got overcast and the sunlight was blocked off after 9:30 a.m, so the air in the beech forest was very cool and refreshing. Almost of all lilies just put out the buds in the area. By the side of them, Oobagiboushi was blooming.

The peak season for lilies in the mountain-foot had passed, however, Hybrid Lilies (photo) were still keeping its beauty. I could not help looking for the lilies giving sweet scent in the fragrant garden.

Hybrid Lilies made a good contrast with fresh green trees and grass in Akamatsu-no-mori (Red Pine Forest) as well. When I stepped into the forest, I felt a comfort breeze and it swayed the flowers lightly. It is recommended to visit this cool spot in a hot summer day.
