This year, the flowery season has begun 10－14 days earlier than usual in HAKUBA VALLEY. The lilies are also influenced by the warm climate, so Hakuba Iwatake Lily Garden & Mountain View started the operation today, July 2 (Sat.), 1 week earlier than schedule.

The lilies in Up Bahn and Paradise Area were in early half-bloom already. Those in Akamatsu-no-mori just started to come out. The orange and yellow flowers of Sukashiyuri (Asiatic) were so beautiful and especially in Up Bahn, their lovely welcome made me walking with light steps.

We have had just a little rain since late-May until mid-June, so the stems and leaves remained in good condition with few damage. It seems that the lilies will be in full bloom in the next weekend in Village Lily Garden, and in late-July in Summit Lily Garden.

More and more people visited the garden after 9:00 a.m. In the early morning, there were drops of dew on the grass, so it is better to wear trekking shoes or sneakers. The entrance of the garden is a photogenic point, so I found people taking photos with their cameras.

By the way, the mountain bike course was reopened in Hakuba Iwatake in the last year. Downhill Course from the summit to the mountain foot has a 523-meter gap in elevation. The 4-kilometer long course, Cross Country Course leads you around the mountain foot. Besides, Dual Bump Track & MINI Cross Course (photo) is also open already!
