It’s exactly the best time for autumn foliage in Iwatake now ! Getting off the gondola and going toward the viewing deck, I could see ‘a picturesque scenery’ of white snow, red leaves halfway up the mountain and green ones at the foot of the mountain. I couldn’t help exclaiming in admiration. Around 10 o’clock, the summit area became busy with visitors, including small children and dogs.

The sunshine was blocked on the summit of Mt. Iwatake and the ridge line was almost hidden in the clouds. However, due to the snow from last night till this morning, I could see a fresh snow on the Northern Alps and the autumn foliage spread before my eyes in the west. I was so moved by the spectacular view.

Around 9 o’clock, the number of the visitors on the summit has increased and it was getting busier around Skyarc. It’s been only two days since the last report, but leaves have changed their colors more than I expected. I could say that they came into their best time.

There is a handicraft corner upstairs in Skyarc. People can enjoy one handicraft with drink by 500 JPY. Also, all the participants can get a “Nezokonomori pendant”.

The clolored leaves along the upper part of the gondola line were at their best. At the gondola base station, free foot bath from Hakuba Happo Onsen is prepared to soothe the fatigue after walking and trekking.
