Kamaike Marsh was filled with a lively atmosphere. I found lovely flowers of Kobai Keisou, Hakusan Taigeki, and Nikko Kisuge, which will be in full bloom in a few days, whereas Ootakanebara was getting over. It was announced that Tokyo has had “less than three hours total of sunshine” for 20 days in a row, which is the longest period on the statistics. We have had lots of cloudy or rainy days too in Hakuba.

It was the first sunny morning since a week and I saw lots of climbers and hikers arriving before 7 a.m. when the park will open. I enjoyed the walk to Happo-ike Pond along Happo One Nature Trail without getting my shoes dirty, although Boardwalk was a bit muddy at first.

My eyes were caught by white flowers of Iwashimotsukeblooming on Happo One Nature Trail (shown in the photo). Small Happo Usuyukiso, Ibuki Jyakso, Hosoba Tsumekusa flowers were pretty too and I never got weary of looking these flowers. I also found Nikko Kisuge flowers in bloom just before I reached No.2 .

The rushing clouds started to hang over Kaerazu-no-Ken around 8:40 a.m. “We enjoy your reports”, some people said and headed for Mt. Karamatsu, worried about the weather.

I got a fine view of Hakuba Sanzan from Kurobishi Rindo around 6:30 a.m. I could also see the sea of clouds in the east. It was hot like summer when the sun appeared but I enjoyed trekking in the cool mountain air.
