Nikko Kisuge, which is a major summer alpine plant, is now in bloom (as shown in the photo)! The yellow flowers were beautiful over the green slope along Alpen Quad and Happo One Nature Trail・Boardwalk. I also found lots of beautiful flowers of Tani Utsugi, Kobai Keiso and Hakusan Taigeki at the lower area of Happo-ike Sanso.

It was rainy last night but it finally stopped today. However, it was still cloudy and Ridge Trail was shrouded in the fog which came up over the southern slope. I reached the clouds around Shakujii Cairn around 9 a.m. I saw people trying to take scenic photos at the moment when the sun appeared.

The sun appeared and went behind clouds in a short time but it finally got cloudy and foggy. There was a strong wind blowing at the upper area of Happo Cairn (shown in the photo). The cool air in the fog felt nice while I was walking, however, it cooled my body when I stopped.

Deep pink flowers of Takane Bara (rose) were beautiful around No.3 Cairn (as shown in the photo), while Chishimagicho, which was already in bloom around this time last year, was still in bud. I saw Yotsuba Shiogama, Happo Usuyukiso, and Iwashimotsuke along Nature Trail.

The popular deck where we can see Hakuba Sanzan reflected on Happo-ike Pond is now accessible as the snow has almost melted. By the way, “2019 Starry Sky Observation Party”, where you can see Milky way and summer constellations, will be held on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays in July, and on Jul.29 (Mon) to Aug.25 (Sun), and on Aug.31 (Sat). Kurobishi Rindo opened and Kurobishi No.3 Pair started operation on Jul.1 (Mon).
