Happo Alpen Line (Gondola, Alpen Quad and Grad Quad lift) started operation at 8 a.m. on Jun.1(Sat). Happo One Nature Trail is 1.5-km, 90-minute (one way) trekking course between the last stop of Grad Quad and Happo-ike Pond. You can check parking availability on the official website.
[Ridge Trail・Happo One Nature Trail]
Happo One Nature Trail diverges into Ridge Trail, which directly runs up to the top, and Boardwalk, which zigzags up the slope, at the bottom area. For now, only Ridge Trail (shown in the first photo) is accessible due to the remaining snow. I found crunchy but loose snow still lying on the ground on my way from the restroom to the Happo Cairn (as shown in the photo). I enjoyed crunching snow under my feet.

Alpine plants were in bloom like last year. Miyama Azuki Giku, Yukiwari-so and Harurindo flowers were at their best. Umehatazao flowers were in bloom too around No.2 Cairn, No.3 Cairn and Happo-ike Pond.

There was still some snow around Happo-ike Pond, which locates 2,060 meters above sea level, just as the last year. The temperature was too low compared to the lower area and it was cold in the lift in the morning. The gentle wind blowing up the southern slope was nice while trekking.

Reservations opened today for the stargazing event held from July till October. Kitaone Kogen (Kitaone Quad) will be closed tomorrow on Jun.2 (Sun) and reopen on Jul.13 (Sat) for the summer operation. Kurobishi Rindo and Kurobishi No.3 Pair will be open on Jul.1 (Mon). Anyway, summer has come to Happo today!
