Alpen Quad started working late from 8:30 a.m. due to the strong wind. Nevertheless, the wind kept blowing strongly even after that. In addition, a misty rain from the Northern Alps made me chilly. I saw a rainbow in the direction of Kurobishi No.3, which has been closed since Aug.31 (Fri), under the sun appearing between clouds.

The misty rain stopped around 9:30 a.m. and the blue sky appeared. “We were a senior and a junior at the former office. We met for the first time in two years to climb up together. We are glad that the weather is improving!”, a visitor from Shizuoka and another from Chiba said.

I had been worried about the leaves falling because of the typhoon that approached in the early morning yesterday and the strong wind after that. However, there was not serious damage.
In the lower area of the boardwalk, I could enjoy the bright red leaves of Sarasadoudan (shown in the photo) as well as the color gradation of Konara trees from yellow to orange. The leaves of Nanakamado, which had changed colors, turned deeper, as I went up.

The wind got gentle on my way from the upper area of boardwalk to Happo Cairn. However, it got strong again as I reached ridge trail, which almost blew my hat. I saw people keeping wearing windproof jacket because of the cold wind, although the sun appeared for a long time.

Autumn leaves are at their best around Happo-ike pond. The fleecy clouds kept hanging over the ridge of the Northern Alps. By the way, the top area of Mt. Hakuba (2,932m above sea level) was blanketed in snow in the early morning, according to Hakuba Sanso.
