“Autumn Festival” was held at Usagidaira Terrace Special Site from 10 a.m. on Sep. 23 (Sun) and 24 (Mon). The performance of Hakuba Happo Daiko (Japanese Drums) was held at CORONA ESCAPE TERRACE from 11 a..m. and p.m. Powerful sound of drums was roaring around.

Specialty dishes of Nagano prefecture, such as kuri-okowa (chestnut rice), gohei-mochi and oyaki, were on sale. I was especially attracted to paella (400yen), which had shimeji, maitake, prawn and cram etc. on the top. It was nice with acid flavor of lemon. At 12:00, mushroom miso soup was distributed to the visitors.

Agricultural products, such as Shinano-Dolce and Kougyoku (Jonathan) were lined up in the tents where souvenirs were sold. I also found some local products of Hakuba Village, like Murasakimai-Udon noodle, Aooni-Rakugan, and Hakuba-Murasakimai-Pon Senbei. There were trial corners of telescope (4,000yen) and planisphere umbrella (2,000yen) inside the site.

By the way, here’s about Shimo-no-kaba, which I couldn’t cover yesterday. About 60% of the trees had changed colors. As I went closer, the forest looked more beautiful, which made me excited. I found a lot of green leaves of Dakekanba trees turning yellow inside the forest.

Happo-ike Pond was a bit wavy but I could enjoy the typical beautiful sight there. By the way, the toilets on the way to No.2 Cairn is available, however, they still require water control.
Thus, it is announced that it is appreciated to use the ones on the way to Happo-ike Sanso as much as you can. On the other hand, Kurobishi Rindo has been closed since Aug.31 (Fri).
