It was “rainy or cloudy” on the top of the mountain from Sep.14 (Fri) to Sep.16 (Sun), the second day of the three-day weekend. There was much cloud today, the last day of the three-day weekend, as well but a little sunlight came through in the morning. When I reached Happo-one Nature Trail, the temperature was +14℃, which was much lower than the last report and it was chilly because of northerly wind.

Bright red Hakusan-taigeki were standing out among leaves turning yellow and brown. I saw them on the way from Kamaike Marsh to the destination, Shimo-no-Kanba. In addition, I found most of the flowers along the route was Umebachiso.

Clouds were running fast; sometimes a little sunlight came through, the sky was covered with clouds, and light clouds came floating. Luckily, we didn’t have any rain though. A few parts between No.2 Cairn and Happo Cairn were muddy but it was dry and good overall. The number of visitors for sightseeing increased around 10 a.m. and I passed lots of families.

Leaves were turning yellow and red around Happo-ike Pond and green plants on the ridge were getting less striking. Fruits of Nanakamado were bright red everywhere. I got excited and felt like walking with a springy step, thinking about the approaching autumn leaf season.

Around 10:30 a.m., on my way of going down, I felt a bit hot because the sunlight was long and I’d warmed up myself enough. I found the southern slope of the trekking course got yellow, while I was on Riesen Grat.
