The event, “Let’s make fun memories at the end of summer holiday with your family!”, was held under the sponsorship of FM Nagano, starting from Usagidaira Terrace. There were 67 participants in total and many came with their family. ( ※ The lady on the right side was a radio personality, Ms. Kanako Honma.) After the opening ceremony and warming up, they left for trekking, riding on Alpen Quads.

The temperature has declined rapidly since the night before last. The temperature was +10℃ at Kurobishidaira this morning and it was cold to wear a light long-sleeved shirt. There were lots of Iwashobu among alpine plants and I felt the season was changing. I saw many Hakusan-shajin, Takane-matsumushiso, Tamuraso, and Umebachiso as well.

There were lots of thin clouds in the eastern sky in the early morning. However, it has gradually lifted and I could see the mountain ranges of the Northern Alps clearly. I could also enjoy the view of Mt. Asama and Mt. Azumaya in the east, and Yatsugatake and the Southern Alps in the south.

The area around Happo-ike Pond was so crowded even after the bon period. The temperature has increased to +21℃ and it was nice to have a break, enjoying the scenery. I saw hikers who headed for Mt. Karamatsu and tourists coming up one after another.

The terrace and deck outside of Usagidaita Terrace, including Colona Escape Terrace, are freely used. I saw some people enjoying Starbucks coffee they bought at “Happo Usagidaira Cafe”. The sunlight was not too hot even past 10 am and I enjoyed the bracing mountain air.
