The rain stopped in the midnight and we had a cloudy morning in the mountain foot area. During Obon season, the weather was not good and today, the temperature was even 17 degrees on the mountain. Around my foot, Umebashisou (Photo), Hakusanshajin and Tamurasou were wet with dew.

The lower part of the nature trail was covered with clouds. However, when I got to the junction point of Ridge Trail and Boardwalk, the blue sky spread out suddenly. 2 people from Tokyo gave me the watchword, “We always enjoy your reports!”

The mountaineering season is still going on, so there were many people climbing up toward Mt. Karamatsu. I saw the clouds came up from the west along the ridge under Shimo-no-kanba, but we could see the blue sky for a long while.

Finally, I met this beautiful blue sky! In the north east, the peaks of Hakuba looked like floating the clouds and there was the sea of clouds in the east. The number of Takane Matsumushisou were increasing greatly around Happo-ike Pond, besides Kugaisou.

From 8:30 a.m. when I started to climb down, the lower part from Happo Cairn were in the clouds and the sunlight was blocked off. In this morning, many people cheered me and a father and his daughter from Ueda City, Nagano, gave me the watchword. By the way, Kurobishi No. 3 Pair Lift is open at 6:45 a.m. in Aug. 16－20, 7:15 a.m. on weekends and 7:45 a.m. on weekdays in Aug 21－31.
