The weather forecast proved to be wrong and the blue sky spread out. It was hardly blowing a wind, but the air was very refreshing because of the thin clouds and comfortable temperature. I could see Mt. Goryu and Mt. Kashima Yarigatake on the left and peaks of Hakuba on the right during trekking.

The good weather led me to the higher place today. When I got in Shimo-no-kanba, the leaves, woods and plants were lively. I was impressed by the colonies of Hakusan Ominaeshi and Hakusan Shajin.

It is in the peak season of flowers in around the trail toward kami-no-kanba. I saw Shimotsukesou, Tateyamautsubogusa, Hakusan Shajin, Nikkokisuge, Kurumayuri and Miyamaiwanigana. Especially, Kinpouge put cute yellow flowers.

The remaining snow in Ougi-on-setsuden was much more than usual. After taking a rest here, I climbed up toward Maruyama Cairn. Now is the summer vacation season, so I met a lot of families with young kids.

There were also many people who did trail running. On Sep. 10 (Sun), “The 7th Hakuba International Trail Run” will be held in Hakuba. More than 1,800 people will participate in this big event.
