It was so cold from the last afternoon to this morning, just 3 degrees at 8:30 a.m, and my hands got numb during on the lift. When I came to Ridge Trail, I saw something like white flowers. I found it was a frozen plant and took pictures because of its beauty.

In these mornings, it has been foggy from the mountain foot to the upper part of the ski areas. It was sometimes sunny but mostly hazy in the trails, so the temperature did not rise for a while.

We had more sunlight when I reached Cairn No.2 and the clouds got thinner as well. Occasionally, Northern Alps showed us the great peaks through the breaks of clouds and made people give cheers. The season for trekking and moutains will end soon, but I still met any people with big backpacks.

After passing Happo Cairn, I came over the clouds. The great sea of clouds jumped into my sight and mountains of north Nagano were upon it in the east when I looked back. Mountains of Hakuba and Mt. Goryu were also “floating” on the cloud sea and the view was very impressive.

It was blowing a soft wind and it made Happo-ike Pond rippling. On the view deck, some people were waiting for the best timing to shoot mountains reflected in the pond. On the way back to the foot, it got foggy around Shakujii Cairn again.
