Only 10 days are left until Happo-one Nature Trail finishes its operation on Oct. 30 (Sun). Autumn tints were in the peak around Kitaone Kogen Highland (1,200m) and I could leaves turning into red and yellow brightly during driving in Kurobishi Line toward Kurobishi No.3 Pair Lift. By the way, Kuroboshi Line will be open until Oct. 30 (Sun).

It was thickly foggy in the lower part around Happo-ike Sanso Hut, but we had clear sky as we climbed up. After passing Shakujii Cairn, the peaks of Kaerazu-no-ken jumped into my sight. The family from Saku City, Nagano, was also enjoying trekking and great views.

The north wind made Happo-ike Pond rippling, but there were some people taking photos on the view deck. Although today was a weekday in late Fall, I met many trekkers and a couple who often comes skiing to Hakuba in Winter gave me the watchword, “We always enjoy your reports.”

The wind got more stronger when I reached the ridge toward Shimo-no-kanba. The clouds were coming up from the south face and they made “a wall” between the sky and clouds. Unfortunately, Mt. Goryu were behind them today.

However, we could see mountains of Hakuba clearly. Autumn tints had passed the peak already even in the mountain foot and I could see just white trunks of birches and green Siberian pine trees. Almost all leaves had fallen from the birches in Shimo-no-kanba as well.
