Because of the radiative cooling, the temperature got low, 12 degrees at 8:30 a.m. After the operation had started, it got slightly cloudy and the sunlight was blocked off and cast again and again. The sea of clouds was spreading out in the east south sky. Today, the weather was forecast to be sunny, so the first gondola had a long line of hikers.

The clouds in the west sky started to break as time passed, and the autumn sky spread out. We could see the great peak and ridge of Mt. Goryu, dyed red by the autumn trees. The trees started to change color one after another in the lower part, especially along the gondola.

The grass in the upper part had already withered but the Siberian dwarf pines were still green. We could see red and orange Tsutsuji, Ookamenoki, and Nanakamado.

The autumn trees around Happo-ike Pond were still beautiful. The view from the path in the north part of the pond was worth seeing. I found many people taking pictures. The view deck by the pond was sometimes filled with people.

I needed a jacket in the ridge toward Shimo-no-kanba because the strong wind was very chilly. In this year, the leaves had started to fall from trees already earlier than we expected.
