It was a good day for trekking with the blue sky. I did not feel cold even in the early morning because it got warmer as forecast. Today, we make this report with Shimada Daiki, a student from Nagano City.

Now, we can find red and yellow tints everywhere in Happo Nature Trail. We took a rest at Cairn No.2 after climbing up the steep trail. Mt. Goryu, Mt. Kashimayarigatake and mountains in Hakuba showed the clear peaks and made superb views.

Happo-ike pond reflected mountains beautifully until 9:00 a.m. However, the sky got overcast and fog had set in. Today was the last weekend of Silver Week, so we met many hikers from Mt. Karamatsu on the way to Shimo-no-kanba.

The clouds broke up for a while and the south face dyed orange and yellow by the autumn trees and grass appeared. It changed the color into deep green toward the mountain foot and made a gradation. The clouds blocked off the sunlight and a cool wind was blowing, but a light jacket was enough today.

In the face on the opposite side, the bright red leaves of Nanakamado were very impressive. By the way, Happo Alpen Line finishes the early-morning operation from 6:00 a.m. and the opening time in weekends will change to 7:oo a.m.
