The weather has been unstable recently, however, Happo-one was crowded with hikers and we needed to wait for about 15 minutes to get on the gondola in the early morning. In the trails, it was very cool (rather a little cold!) because the clouds blocked off the sunlight.

We passed through the clouds around Shakujii Cairn, so the sunlight was cast occasionally. The rain falling yesterday made some puddles and trails slippy. I hardly got sweaty thanks to the cool wind.

At 9:45 a.m. when I reached Cairn No.3, we could see the wild face of mountains and snowy valleys through the breaks of clouds. I met a pair of sisters and they said they would be climb Mt. Karamatsu. Fortunately, the weather forecast says the weather will remain calm until tomorrow.

Along the ridge between Cairn No.3 to Shimo-no-kanba, the clouds were rising up from the south face. The dense fog cooled me down comfortably. After that, it started to rain lightly around 10:30 a.m.

The number of alpine flowers had decreased remarkably and a lot of plants were bearing seeds. In the birch forest of Shimo-no-kanba, I found red seeds of Nanakamado (photo), Niwatoko and Ookamenoki. They bring us signs of Fall.
