It was fine until 7:00 a.m. A cool wind was blowing and the clouds made the sunlight much lighter from about 7:00 a.m, so we could enjoy trekking comfortably. The flowers got withering away in Kamaike Marsh and Hakusantaigeki turned into red already.

Now three typhoons are traveling toward the north in the Pacific and they made the wind strong and sky overcast. A family from Nagano City gave me the watchword, “We always enjoy your reports.” They also said they did not know we (Snownavi) made reports in not only Winter but also Summer.

Today was a weekend and the weather was forecast to be fine, so the trails were very crowded like in Obon Season. After that, there was a long line from Cairn No.2 to Happo Cairn around 8:30 a.m.

I found many flowers of Umebashisou and Iwashobu in the lower part of Ridge Trail and Tamurasou in the upper part. Miyamakogomegusa (photo) and Happotakanesenburi were blooming beautifully in the area before Happo-ike Pond where the snow remained in for a longer time than other areas.

At 8:20 a.m. when I got to Happo-ike Pond, more and more clouds gathered and the wind became stronger. We could not see the mirror-like surface of the pond because the wind made it rippling. However, people looked to enjoy the cool air and the great view of the Northern Alps.
