The gondola starts the operation at 6:00 a.m. until Aug. 14 (Sun.) and the opening time will be change to 7:00 a.m. from Aug. 15 (Mon.) to Aug. 21 (Sun). Obon Season has started and more and more people come trekking in the mountain trails. We have had 7 straight fine days from Aug. 6 (Sat.).

It is forecast to be so hot across the country, but it has got cool gradually in Hakuba from the last weekend. The temperature rises slowly, so we could see the sea of clouds for a longer time in the east.

As you can see in the photo, Happo-ike pond area became very crowded with people. The fresh green mountains with refreshing air made us feel the sign of high summer. During trekking, we often made way for others because of the bustle.

The surface of the pond was very quiet and mirroring the peaks of Hakuba, blue sky and flowing clouds. People came to the view point one after another and enjoy the amazing view with admiration.

When I climbed up to Shimo-no-kanba, the alpine flowers around my feet looked to be more lively. Especially, Miyamauikyou and Hakusanominaeshi (photo) were very cute.
