We have three straight fine days from Saturday. We could see the ridges of mountains in Hakuba clearly from Kurobishi-daira and some people stopped to take photos of them. The sunlight was strong, but it did not make the temperature high. I could enjoy trekking in the cool air of the morning.

Now, the gondola starts the operation at 6:00 a.m. during Obon Season (until Aug. 14). It has a long line of trekkers before its open and the trails were also crowded in this morning. We could see Mt. Goryu and Mt. Kashimayari during trekking.

In the upper part of Broadwalk and around Happo Cairn, white and small flowers of Umebachisou remained cute. I found Hakusanshajin, Tamurasou, Takanematsumushisou and Waremokou in the trails as well.

There were a few people at 7:20 a.m. around Happo-ike Pond when I got there, but after 20 minutes, more and more people came one after another. Many people took a rest around the pond, and then started trekking to Mt. Karamatsu. In the east, Mt. Takatsuma, Ototsuma, Myoko, Hiuchi and Yake were dimly visible.

On the trail to Shimo-no-kanba, we climbed up while seeing great view of Tengu-no-kashira and Kaerazu-no-ken. The fine weather did not remain for a long time and the sky got more overcast as time passed after 8:30 a.m.
