The weather was forecast to be fine on this weekend, so the gondola had a very long line before its open. The ridge trail was crowded with trekkers in the early morning. The temperature remained low until 10:00 a.m, so I could climb up easily.

The clouds moved up rapidly and hid the ridge of Mt. Goryu. After that, the peaks of Hakuba also went behind them soon. It got hazy in Happo Nature Trail, but the comfort air cooled me down.

Around 8:00 a.m, more and more hikers with small backpacks started to climb up. Unfortunately, we could not see Northern Alps because of the thick clouds, so some people seemed to regret the overcast weather.

The peak season of the alpine flowers has come now. In the upper part of Broadwalk, I found Akabanashimotsukesou (photo), Obagiboushi, Kugaisou, Yamahotarubukuro, Ibukijakousou, Yotsubashiogama, Waremokou, Kurumayuri, Miyamatouki, Iwashimotsuke, Hakusansyajin, Tateyamautsubogusa, Kibananokawaramatsuba and Kinkouka.

At early time in the morning, many people continued to trek to Mt. Karamatsu from Happo-ike Pond. By the way, the rainy season has been over in Hokuriku Region on July 22 (Fri.). The end of it will come soon in Nagano as well.
