It was a little cloudy in this Saturday, but the weather and temperature (15 degrees) were good for trekking. I could find hepaticas everywhere in Happo-one Nature Trail, but some of them got drooping because of the fast changing of the seasons in this year.

In the lower part from Cairn No.2, the sun started casting the sunlight and it became warmer and warmer as time passed. I felt hot gradually, but the panoramic view of Hakuba rejuvenated and refreshed me.

Around 9:30 a.m, people reached to Happo-ike Pond one after another. Some of them were waiting for the best timing to take photos of the pond and Northern Alps, holding cameras in their hands. The sunlight was still soft today, but the water changes its color usually when the sunlight is casted and always fascinates us.

One of the characteristic flowers around Happo-ike Pond is Kijimushiro (Cinquefoil) with the bright yellow petals. There were also other highland flowers here, and Tateyama Rindo, a light blue flower, was also in full bloom. I found white fluffy cotton mass of Cotton-sedge along Broadwalk during climbing down.

As forecasted, the clouds got thicker and thicker in the upper parts around Happo-ike Pond. By the way, now the course in the west of the pond was the only course that you can walk on the snow. We could enjoy the feel of snow and a cool breeze.
