Today was the first sunny day in the mountain foot since the rainy season started on June 5 (Sun), but the thick clouds were hanging over the upper parts of mountains. The sunlight was blocked off and a cool wind was blowing, so we needed extra clothes in the morning. I found many people, especially mountaineers with big backpacks, enjoy trekking, in spite of that today was a weekday.

The highland flowers were blooming beautifully. I could find a lot of small flowers during trekking. There was a cute cluster of hepaticas along Grat Quad. Other many highland flowers in the summer season started to bloom as well.

The clouds got thicker and thicker as time passed. It was favorable to me because I became hot thanks to trekking. We needed to walk carefully in some miry parts around Cairn No. 2 that the rain wetted yesterday.

The remaining snow on the Happo-ike Pond had decreased greatly and was likely to thaw completely in 10 days. Unfortunately, We could not see the view of Northern Alps today. Besides, it got foggy in the upper part from Happo-ike Pond around 9:30 a.m.

When I climbed down to Alpen Quad, I could see the blue sky and people who enjoyed paragliding. We could feel the refreshing air in the early summer.
