Tsugaike’s TG PARKS terrain park, which is now located along the Han-no-ki Slope, will be relocated to the Tsuga-no-mori Slope (pictured) on April 1st (Thurs.). In addition TG PARKS will be hosting a series of events collectively known as ‘SLAB Spring Days’ over the course of 10 days from 3/26 (Fri.) to 4/4 (Sun.) during which top snowboarders, popular YouTubers and others will descend upon the resort.

As the resort was opening this morning, light snow was falling at the top of the mountain. Conditions were good on the Tsuga-no-mori Slope, where the firm, groomed granular snow was covered with a thin layer of fresh snow. The surface of the groomed Han-no-ki slope started out relatively firm towards the top of the run (pictured), but the snow softened up more and more on the descent, culminating in spring slush at the bottom of the slope.

The granular snow of the well-groomed Shirakaba Slope (pictured) was also beginning to soften up, and conditions were good for smooth, speedy runs. There were a few areas of exposed ground around the front of the Yuki-no-Hiroba, but there was more than enough snow cover running all the way to the Shirakaba Quad, so I didn’t have to worry about my skis getting scratched, scraped or damaged.

In other news, because of the recent warm weather and rainfall, snow has been melting rapidly at the base of the mountain, forcing the Champion Quad to close for the remainder of the season as of 3/21 (Sun.) The Tsugaike Central Triple, Maruyama No. 1 Quad and Kane-no-naru-oka Sky Liner II are currently scheduled to shut down for the season on 3/31 (Wed.). (※The Maruyama No. 1 Quad will run until 1:00 p.m. on the 31st.)
