It was sunny with the hazy blue sky today, “Shunbun-no-hi” which is a Japanese national holiday of the Spring equinox day. A snowboarder from Fukuoka Pref. gave me a greeting, “I always enjoy your reports! Do you remember me?” We meet every year in the ski area and he talked, “Finally, I can come riding. I have been staying since last Wednesday and will leave today. I’m very happy to meet you again!”

Tsuga-no-mori (Photo) and Gotenba Course were groomed very well and nicely firm with the smooth corn snow surface. In Han-no-ki, the slope was getting wetter and softer as I skied down and the snow in the bottom area was very melted. TG PARKS (Photo) was also in good condition.

A group of a sport club from Aichi Pref. talked, “We always enjoy your reports! We always come skiing in the winter and spring holidays!” The groomed slope of Maruyama (Photo) was also in melted corn snow condition. I could enjoy skiing with smooth carving there.

In Kane-no-naru-oka, I found the ground exposed in some parts because the amount of snow is getting less rapidly these days. A mother from Chino City in Nagano Pref. said, “I always enjoy your reports! My son doesn’t like the ski areas around Chino City because the slopes are always icy and hard. We prefer these soft slopes in Tsugaike.” Tomorrow on March 21 (Sun) will be “Ski Kids Day”, so children under 13 years old will be free of lift charges.
