Tsugaike Kogen / ◎241cm / Sunny2021.Mar.11

21031101_tsugaikeWe have “the 39th JSBA All Japan Snowboard Championships” from Mar.9 (Tue) to 12 (Fri). The halfpipe, slopestyle, and straight-jump competition take place in Ishiuchi Maruyama, and the snowboard-cross, dual-slalom and giant slalom take place here in Tsugaike.

[Champion]

21031102_tsugaikeIn the dual-slalom competition, two riders compete in a head-to-head format on the two identical courses set next to each other. The first rider over the line will win (*Riders compete for the total time for two runs in the preliminary, though). The first ride took place in the following order: U-12, U-15, U-18 (Women first), women’s 35+, men’s 50+, men’s 40+, women’s open, and men’s open.

[Champion]

21031103_tsugaikeRiders seemed gripping the loose granular snow well on the southern side of Tsugaike No.1 Pair. Staff members maintained the course every few rides. The competitions we have after this are the second preliminary, KO-ROUND, SEMI-FINAL, and the medal competitions of each category. Giant slalom will take place tomorrow, on the final day.

[Champion]

21031104_tsugaikeThe granular snow was tightly packed on the upper area, while it was loose on the lower area on Hannoki Slope (pictured) in the early morning. I had fun carving turns on the loose granular snow on the wide Maruyama Slope.
