The snow was falling down lightly in the village, but it was getting stronger and thicker with gales as I went up by gondola and the dry snow was falling heavily in the summit area. Tsuga No.2 Pair was late for the open due to the delay of removal of snow, so I went to Han-no-ki first. In the off-piste area in the middle part (Photo), there was 30cm deep fluffy snow!

A skier from Nagano City (Photo) talked, “I always check your reports! Everytime I come skiing, I always miss the good days, but I am really happy now because I finally hit the good day today!” The groomed slope of Han-no-ki was nicely firm and covered with 4cm light snow, so we could enjoy riding comfortably there.

Shirakaba had the groomed slope of “nicely firm compacted powdery snow + 4cm light fresh snow” and Kane-no-naru-oka had that of “nicely firm compacted powdery snow + 2cm light fresh snow”. A group of college students coming by tour bus (Photo) talked, “Now we are in the spring holidays, although we had a lot of days off from last year. Here is like a private slope for us.”

4 people from Saku City in Nagano Pref. (Photo) gave me a greeting, “We always check your reports! We come riding with colleagues together. 2 of us are beginners, but they are from the skate club of Nippon Sport Science University, so I will train them hard!” By the way, this coming Sunday on Feb. 21 will be “Ski Kid’s Day” and children under 13 years old will be free from lift charges.
