Tsugaike Kogen / △272cm / Snowy2021.Feb.16

21021601_tsugaikeThe strong low air pressure typical in winter brought the good snowfall from the last night. It was windy and even gales were blowing sometimes. Due to this strong wind, the gondola line from the middle to summit station, Shirakaba Quad, Maruyama No.1 Quad, Han-no-ki No.1 Quad, Han-no-ki No.3 Quad and Tsuga No.2 Pair were closed temporarily in the morning.

[Champion]

21021602_tsugaikeThe flat slope of Champion Area (Photo) was nicely firm with mixed snow of powdery and corn snow. It was still blowing gales which were almost pushing our body here, so Champion Quad was closed soon at 8:40 a.m. after its open at 8:15 a.m. By the way, the amount of the fresh snow was around 5cm there.

21021603_tsugaikeNow, only 3 areas including Oya-no-hara, Karamatsu and Kane-no-naru-oka were open…. The college students enjoying snowboarding in Karamatsu (Photo) talked, “We arrived this morning by tour bus and will stay for a night. It is unfortunate that almost all lifts are stopped because of this strong wind. However, the snow is good enough for riding!”

[Karamatsu]

21021604_tsugaikeIt was warm and raining in the lower parts yesterday, but the snow condition was good in Karamatsu (Photo) and Oyanohara (Third Photo) surprisingly and their groomed slopes were nicely firm with powdery snow! The 3cm fresh snow topped on the slope was also dry.
