It was cloudy at the base area before the open of the gondola, but it was snowing with the west wind blowing strongly sometimes on the top areas. The groomed slope along Han-no-ki High Speed Pair (Photo) was in really good condition with its nicely firm flat slope! We could enjoy carving comfortably there.

The amount of the fresh snow fallen last night was about 20cm deep in the upper areas. The middle (Photo) to bottom part of Han-no-ki was also nicely firm and in good condition. The off-piste area along Han-no-ki No.3 Quad had 10-15cm fresh snow on the hard bumpy slope.

The manager of Forest Snowboard Shop in Matsumoto City (First man from the left) gave me a greeting, “Today, we are giving a free private lesson to our guests who bought snowboards from us!” The groomed slopes of Maruyama and Karamatsu (4th Photo) were nicely soft with mixed snow of powdery and corn snow.

It was still snowing in the lower parts of the ski area at 9:30 a.m. After that, it started to blow strong winds in the upper areas, so the line from the middle station to the summit station of Gondola, Shirakaba Quad, Han-no-ki No.3 Quad and Tsuga No.2 Pair were closed at around 11:00 a.m. By the way, we will have Lady’s Days on every Monday, Thursday and Friday from Feb. 1 (Mon) to Mar. 12 (Fri) and a pair of 1 day lift tickets for women will be JPY6,000!
