Tsugaike Kogen/ ○220cm / Sunny2020.Mar.17

20031701_tsugaikeThe clouds appeared in the west, although it was sunny. I was able to see the snow blown by the strong wind around the ridge of the Northern Alps. Meanwhile, there was little wind in the resort and it was like the best season.

20031702_tsugaikeTsugaike Ropeway runs every 30 minutes from 8:30 a.m. in the early spring. (※Extra ropeways are operated according to the number of visitors). Many people went backcountry skiing/snowboarding in Kamomine and Tengubara in the morning. There was over 30 cm of soft powder snow in front of Ropeway Sancho Station.

20031703_tsugaikeI visited Tsugaike Nature Park today. The southerly wind got intense while I was heading towards Tsugaike Visitor Center. I was caught in a snowstorm when I was about to reach Tsugaike Hutte, which is closed during winter. The snowdrift was as high as the second-floor window, although we have little snow this year.

20031704_tsugaikeBy the way, people were waiting in a long line at Tsuga No.2 Pair Lift Station in the early morning. The compacted powder snow was soft and nice in Tsuga-no-mori Slope and along Han-no-ki High-Speed Pair Lift. The non-compacted snow was covered with about 20 cm of fresh snow. The slope was soon filled with ski/snowboard tracks.
