Tsugaike Kogen / ◎ 120cm / Sunny 2020.Jan.11

20011101_tsugaikeIt was chilly in the early morning because of the radiative cooling. The snow squeaked when I stepped on after getting off Gondola. The upper area was covered with perfect powder snow! The snow was firmly compacted and nice along Hannoki High-speed Pair Lift and Tsuga-no-mori Slope (pictured).

20011102_tsugaikeSnow was hard in the middle and bottom areas of Hannoki, and I saw tall grasses uncovered by snow and some snowballs. I found snowballs on the hard snow of Shirakaba Slope, too. (See the picture.) Bushes and pampas grasses were exposed in the middle and bottom areas of Shirakaba.

20011103_tsugaike“We enjoy your reports! Some of us are senior and others are freshmen. We’re doing self-training.”, members of demo ski club at Shinshu University said. (See the picture.) I also saw three visitors from Hyogo and three from Osaka, who were tennis instructors.”We enjoy your reports. They are our students at tennis club.”, they said. Thank you all for talking to me as usual.

Oyanohara Slope is covered with lawn and used as a golf course during summer. The snow was hard compacted and there were no bushes or grasses uncovered there. It was the first day of the three-day holiday. The western part and eastern part of Chuo parking got full by 7 a.m. and  9 a.m., respectively. People were waiting about 10 minutes for Gondola around 9:30.
