Tsugaike Kogen / ◎370cm / Sunny2018.Mar.03

18030301_tsugaikeThe weather was calm and nice today, changing completely from the windy weather yesterday. And early-spring operation of Tsugaike Ropeway has started! There were about 15 people on the first service at 8:30 a.m.. The service was increased because more and more people arrived later.

18030302_tsugaikeA father from Toyama said, “I always enjoy your reports! I’m coming with my son in the fifth grade as a reward for his passing the first level of SAJ.” Congratulations! The rindo path towards Tsuga-no-mori and the one towards Tsugaike Nature Park were both well-groomed from Ropeway Summit Station. It was good for both skiing and hiking up.

18030303_tsugaikeAnyway, many people headed for Tenguppara, where fresh powder snow spread, after they got off the ropeway. I saw people climbing up, equipping skis and splitboard for backcountry with climbing skin.

18030304_tsugaikeThe wind sometimes blew strongly at Tsugaike Nature Park. However, I felt comfortable because it was southerly and not chilly. The surface of the snow was packed by wind and good for walking because I wasn’t stuck deeply. A party of four from Aichi and Toyama said, “We always enjoy your reports! Today, we’re going to Kanayamasawa.”
