Because of the strong wind at the summit, the gondola went only to Shirakaba Station in the morning. Although I tried to go to the upper area with Han-no-ki No.1 Quad and Han-no-ki No.3 Quad but Han-no-ki No.3 was not operating. Two people from Matsumoto city, Nagano took pose of “regrettable.”

I went to Champion same as the day before yesterday. Weak wind blew from Northern Alps with small and dry snow. It was very cold; the temperature was -10 degrees. Thanks to the coldness, the quality of the snow was good and I expect for the powder snow.

But the amount of the fresh snow wasn’t much yesterday night. 15-20 cm of the fresh snow was on non-groomed slope along Champion Quad. The quality of the snow was in a best and the bottom was dry and soft, so I enjoy the powder run.

I enjoyed skiing fast on the widely groomed flat slope of Champion. The slope was covered with 5-10 cm of dry fresh snow. It was in powdery condition at groomed Oya-no-hara and Karamatsu. At 10:00 a.m., the snow still fell strongly, and it seemed that the cold weather stay for a little while.
