The annual “Tsugaike winter festival for children” was held at Kanenaru from 10:00 am. “A rice-cake pounding and eating event” was very popular and there was a long line before starting. Children trying to pound steamed rice with a mallet with unpracticed hands were so cute. I saw many parents taking their pictures. There were cushions at foot for not to slip and you can choose the size of the mallet.

Participants were treated to about 4 sho of rice-cakes with soybean flour. There was temporarily a long waiting line and staffs who dust rice-cakes with soybean flour were very busy. The lottery in which people won many gifts and mini-mini-fair were held at Tsugaike Park and Grill Tsugaike respectively. Many families were having a good time inside and out.

Kids park was open for free as the festival was held. The sled race for small children was held at sled course. In the race, a child competed with 2 other children. They got some candy, regardless of victory or defeat, and they looked so happy.

Treasure hunting in the snow was also very popular. Numbered tickets were distributed three times. A lots of black capsules are buried in a pile of snow, and children find them with the signal to begin. They were serious and some found several capsules. In the capsules, there were various toys like a yo-yo or a cube puzzle, or lottery tickets.
