The snow was falling at Gondola summit station. The well-groomed run along the Han-no-ki High Speed Lift was covered with 2-3 cm wet fresh snow. It was rainy at the foot so there were only few people.

The fresh snow got thinner on the run lower than the Han-no-ki High Speed Lift. The run absorbed the moisture and it was so soft that the edges of skis sunk very deep and I could lose the balance easily. And also the ski were not running so I skied carefully.

The sleet was falling at the upper part of Shirakaba and it was raining at the later half of the course. The run was groomed very wide and it was easy to ski. 3 visitors were students from Osaka. They came to snowboarding using the winter vacation.

Cafeteria Tsuga-no-mori is located on the upper part of ski area and it has 440 seats that is biggest restaurant in Tsugaike. The recommended menu is “Hakuba Pork Shoga-Yaki Don” (1250JPY with Miso soup). You can also purchase goggles, gloves and snacks inside the restaurant.
