Big snowflakes were falling down heavily in the upper part and besides, it was blowing a strong wind in Tsuga-no-mori. The slope was nicely groomed and firm with 7cm fresh snow on, so I could turn comfortably, enjoying the feel of soft snow as well.

There was about 25cm fresh snow in the ungroomed areas. The snow ground was a little hard in the beginning part, but that of the slope leading to Gotenba Rindo along Tsuga No.2 Pair was flat and covered with fluffy snow!! When people skied and snowboarded into the fresh snow, the snow spray was raised over their heads.

People from Tokyo gave me the special watchword, “We always enjoy your report many times a day!!” They also said they love skiing so much that they have moved and lived in Tsugaike in the winter season. The groomed slope along Han-no-ki High Speed Pair was nicely soft and the middle and lower parts of Han-no-ki got rough already at around 9:00 a.m.

In the middle parts of the ski area, the visibility was so poor because of the thick fog and snow falling heavily. The lower slope of Champion and Oya-no-hara was very crowded with beginners who climbed up by Tsugaike Chuo Triple again and again. The snow condition have gotten better thanks to the snowfall, but I found some bushes in Shirakaba, the lower and middle parts of Han-no-ki, Karamatsu and Oya-no-hara still.
