Sugadaira Kogen / ◎165cm / Snowy2022.Feb.21
Sugadaira Kogen is well known as a ski area which has 80% rates of sunny days, but the strong winter pressure pattern brought a heavy and quiet snowfall today. One of the staff of the ski area said, “We usually worry about the remaining amount of snow at the end of season, but there is no anxiety of lack of snow this winter.” In Schneider Area, a snowman which is over 2 meters tall (Photo) welcomes guests.

I could hear good impressions about the snow from 3 people from Ibaraki, Chiba and Ueda City in Nagano (Photo) such as, “It is so amazing!” and “What good snow here is!” Both the off-piste areas with fluffy fresh snow and nicely soft groomed slopes were in fine condition from the top to bottom today!

By the way, the snow fallen yesterday was a little wet, so the surface of the 20cm fresh snow was smooth and the lower part was fluffy in the off-piste area of Oku Davos No.1 Beginner Course. Oku Davos No.1 Triple Lift was open 15 minutes later than usual this morning.

In the nicely soft groomed slope covered with 2-5cm fresh snow of Omote Davos West Course, we could enjoy riding at high speed. I met students living in Ueda City and they said, “We come to Sugadaira once or twice every year, but this is our first time to have such a lot of snow. It is a big fun!”
