Sugadaira Kogen / ◎150cm / Partly Sunny2022.Feb.15

22021501_sugadairaWe had the soft sunlight through the thin clouds this morning. The groomed slope of Mt. Omatsu GO-no-hara (Ohoto) was nicely firm and in a good condition. I mainly found groups of alpen skiers enjoying riding there just after the opening time at 8:30 a.m, but the slope was not so busy and I could ski at my own pace.

22021502_sugadairaThe lower part of Mt. Omatsu White Peak (Photo) was groomed well and nicely firm with good snow. This area was quiet for a long time and there were still corduroy patterns on the slope even after 10:00 a.m. The groomed part of Mt. Omatsu Course was in the same condition and the off-piste area on the skier’s left had big bumps from the top to bottom.

22021503_sugadairaIn Mt. Omatsu GO-no-hara, I found a man trying “NICO”, a pair of separated snowboards (Right on Photo). By the way, it is available to rent this NICO at the ski center in Pinebeak at JPY3,000 per adult and JPY2,500 per child under 15 years old. It is treated as a snowboard, so you can ride it at all courses.

22021504_sugadairaMt. Omatsu Smile Slope (Photo) which has 3 kickers and a spine was also groomed well today. On the skier’s right of Mt. Omatsu No.3 Pair, there was a dual slalom course of brash poles. It is in a gentle slope and everyone can try this course.
