Sugadaira has many sunny days every year, and we have many sunny days this year again. “I check your website regularly! I’ve been staying at my second house since the day before the resort opened, and enjoying skiing while working remotely”, a skier coming from Kanagawa said (pictured). Snowmakers were busy, making roaring sounds on Ura Taro Family West Course.

Ura Taro Family East, Omatsu GO-no-hara, Omatsu Family, and Tsubakuro Family Course are open, while Hinode Slope is closed between Dec.13 (Mon) and Dec.17 (Fri). I tried to edge more carefully than usual on the hard compacted snow in the upper area of Ura Taro Family East Course and on the very hard compacted snow in the lower area.

Snow was hard pack and easy to gain speed on the half of Omatsu GO no Hara (pictured). Snow was also hard pack on Omatsu Family Course. Snow was groomed about 30 m wide on Tsubakuro Family Course, which was blanketed with about 5 mm of artificial snow from last night.

Snowmakers were busy in the cold this morning to expand the course. Ura Davos Wave Course and Ura Davos Heart no Mori Course received about 5 cm of fresh artificial snow. A snow groomer was working with the artificial snow in the middle area of Tsubakuro Champion Course.
