The winter of Sugadaira Kogen Snow Resort started with the opening of Urataro Family East (Photo). On Dec. 11 (Sat), the next day of the first day, totally 6 courses (*Actually 4 courses) such as Hinode, Friend, Omatsuyama GO-no-hara, Omatsuyama Family and Tsubakuro Family were open as well. We had a beautiful morning with the sunrise and blue sky in this early morning.
[Urataro Family East]
Hinode Pair (420m) was open at 6:00 a.m. in Hinode Area (Photo) and some groups of racing teams were training with poles (*It is open at 8:30 for visitors). The slope of the corn snow was firm well. The other 3 lifts of Stage 3 (445m), Omatsu No.1 Quad (781m) and Tsubakuro No.2 Pair (360m) were open at 8:30 a.m.
[Hinode]
From the top station of Omatsu No.1 Quad, we could ski down through the artificial snow slopes of Friend Course, Omatsu GO-no-hara Course (Photo) and Family Course. A man talked, “Good morning, Snownavi! We met you several times in Hakuba. I am looking forward to seeing your report of Sugadaira.”
[Omatsuyama GO-no-hara]
The slopes of Friend Course→Omatsuyama GO-no-hara→Family Course and Tsubakuro Family Course→Urataro Family East were in the similar condition with Hinode Area and in nicely firm corn snow condition. One of staff of Pinebeak talked, “I’m very happy to have a opening day without any problems. More and more courses will be open one after another depending on the snow condition. We are looking forward to meeting you here!”
