In Sugadaira Kogen Snow Resort, Urataro Family East Course started opening for the 2020 season on Dec.11 (Fri). The wide, flat slope is 450 meters long and excellent for practice. There were many skiers and snowboarders this morning in spite of the western snowstorm.

The slope with artificial snow was hard and icy. I enjoyed carving turns and gaining speed on the three to four centimeters of dry new snow. The fresh snow gradually got better as time went on.

The coldest air mass is coming into Japan according to the weather forecast. Meanwhile, artificial snowmaking machines were working in Ura Davos Wave Course and Ura Davos Heart Forest Course. I’m pretty sure both courses will open on Dec.19 (Sat) as scheduled. In Pine Beak, Go-no-hara Course and Family Course in Oomatsu Slope, and Family Course in Tsubakuro Slope have opened on Dec.12 (Sat).
