37 out of 59 courses are open in Sugadaira Kogen, although the amount of snow is decreasing. Fine wet snow was falling silently today. The granular snow was covered with about 1 cm of fresh snow and compacted hard in Family Course. The course got crowded and the corduroy patterns under the fresh snow got exposed after the resort opened.

Candies were distributed to the ladies at the foot of Family Course from 10 a.m. as it was White Day. Family Course was crowded, while Schi Heil Course was empty. The snow was covered with about 2 cm of fresh snow in Schi Heil Course. It was easier to carve turns in Schi Heil Course than in Family Course as there was more fresh snow.

“I’m coming with my elementary school children because it’s “Ski Children’s Day” tomorrow. We visit Sugadaira twice every month.”, a man coming from Tokyo said. The compacted granular snow which was covered with about 5 cm of fresh snow was getting loose in Champion Course (pictured) in Pine Beak Area.
The snow in Go-no-hara course was as good as that of Champion Course. There were few people and the snow was smooth in Fujimi Course in the upper area. There were poles on the way to the lift station in Oomatsuyama Family Course and Holiday Course as the snow was melting.
