Almost all the lifts are still working and most of the courses are open in Shiga Kogen, while many snow resorts in Japan were closed yesterday, on Mar. 27 (Sun). The northerly wind brought a little dry snow this morning. I tried to use ski edges when I went down the front slope of the Ichinose Family area, where granular snow was hard compacted.
[Front Slope・Ichinose Family]
“We look forward to your posts! We arrived on Friday and go home today. Your posts keep me going during work.”, a couple coming from Kanagawa Prefecture said (pictured). I enjoyed chatting with a skier coming from Aichi Prefecture, too. Thank you for talking to me!
[Takamagahara Mammoth Slope]
The compacted granular snow was getting loose on Takamagahara Mammoth Slope (pictured in the 2nd photo) and Tanne no Mori Okojo (pictured), compared with the front slope of Ichinose. Ichinose No.8 Quad, which runs over Tanne no Mori, will be stopped after Mar. 31 (Thu) (※Available only for group reservation). Ichionose Family and Takamagahara Mammoth Slope will be open when there is plenty of snow and the safety is secured.
[Tanne no Mori Okojo]
Snow was hard on Tengu Course (pictured) and Panorama Course too, like Tanne no Mori; my skis ran smoothly, although the slopes are gentle. For your information, Ichinose Family, Ichinose Diamond, and Takamagahara Mammoth will open from the early morning between Apr. 29 (Fri) and May 5 (Thu) (JPY 1,800/ person).
