Shiga Kogen / ◎280cm / Snowy2022.Feb.05

The thermometer showed -11 degrees when I arrived at the parking area of Ichinose Family! The snow was heavy enough to make me hesitate momentarily to get out of my car. 3 people from Saitama Prefecture (Photo) gave me the greeting, “We always enjoy your reports! We should have good powdery snow today! This good snow looks to give us another powder day tomorrow.”

Although the lower part of Front Area (First Photo) was groomed this morning, there was 25-30cm fresh snow on it. People made shouts of joy while rushing into the powdery snow one after another. I met a skier from Aichi Prefecture (Photo) in the upper part of Front Area and he said, “I always enjoy your reports! The wind is stronger than I expected in the upper areas.”

The visibility was much better in Panorama Course (Photo) which has a 2,300km long slope thanks to the trees along the course. The nicely soft slope was in an amazing condition with 5-10cm fresh snow on it and we could enjoy cruising so comfortably while kicking that fluffy snow.

The groomed slope of Diamond Area (Photo) was also nicely soft and covered with 20cm fresh snow. It was snowing more strongly at around 9:30 a.m. when I came back to the parking area. In spite of this heavy snow, more and more people started to get on the lifts and enjoy riding at that time.
